The Sonata In Two Different Keys

(                 His voice was the definition of contrived emotion- nothing lying under the tones he laid down to show the world he was strong; no intent of kindness, no smattering of gentle intentions.

    And,

yet-         she still twitched when she heard him, her chest filling with the connective light she craved, and it wrapped around her frame like a comfortable, tight,

painfully tight blanket, her body wishing to stand at the sound of his tone immediately, show him your best side.

And it could be because he was her worst side.    But as the younger girls back flattened to the tune of trying to stand, stand for him, everything became cold, freezing inside her cells and —-

                he’d been there?

The man she defended endlessly had seen the girls cut her hair off and beat her            up and call her stupid and slowly her ribs began to flare, the owner bringing her knees to stand and to knock against one another slowly,

tentatively-    and when she met his onyx worlds something unknown was swimming the the depth of her violet laced blue orbs.

     Something small

                        and angry,

                                             and explosive.

”I-I think you need to leave, U-Uchiha-san.”

her tone wasn’t assured, or hardened, of confident- but it did have a backbone, a purpose, a metallic sense of placement within her fear.

But she was smiling- the freckles on her face forming into the constellation of confusion as she flatted down the uneven pieces of hair around her skull absentmindedly, looking at the rain in the distance.

” I don’t matter to you, or anyone. I know i’m pathetic—                                                                          and that you think i’m stupid for putting up with you.

But at least you look at me, and even if it’s rude, talk to me-

                 so maybe I just…

if i’m so much of a bother, i’ll stop talking, following and even referring to you. I’m sorry.”

She began walking forth, but it was slow- so very slow, pathetic twitches of her muscles forcing her legs to trip slightly into the mounds of mud where her whole form had been pushed before.                                )

⌈ ほのお ⌋—-

.

“You’re going the wrong way.” He told her, but he didn’t look at her. Kneeling down to the soft earth, he delicately picked up clumps of her tangled mess of a hair and dropped it again on the mud. It was such a p r e t t y shade too.
                                                                          “The village is that direction.”

Of course, there was no weight to that statement. Or at least, he tried to sound as nonchalant as he was often called as. But he couldn’t help but care, maybe just a little.

But her response was annoying—repetitiveearworm. He had heard this a billion times from her, like she was a literal broken record. More emphasis on the broken because that what she seemed to be as of this moment. He could easily guess the next words that she would tell him before she could say them. And he couldn’t help but roll his eyes, hoping it’d roll out of his skull because he had no time for this girly, sensitive stuff.

She still however, continued walking the wrong direction. And he grimaced at how stubborn this girl was. He grabbed her wrist, hard, and pulled her from whatever self-loathing trance she was in and pointed her to the direction. Although it wasn’t the village he was specifically pointing at, what he tried to imply were the direction those prissy girls had ran off to.

                       "—W h a t ?“ His voice was low and aggressive, like a growl.
"You want me to kick their asses or something ?
God, get  your  shit  together,  Pinkie.  You’re  the
goddamn Hokage’s  daughter. Have some back
bone or something, seriously. You’re  really  that
                                             a n n o y i n g -—”
