Honō raised his eyebrows in surprised at Konohana’s peculiar question. He opened his mouth to immediately respond and go back to eating, but he stopped and bit his thumbnail in thought, thinking it would have been better if she’d have a really sincere answer than a half-assed one. He pondered for a few moments and a few answers, before actually replying.

         ”Honestly? I-I don’t really believe on that myth.” He leaned a little on his chair, rocking the chair a bit back and forth while his fingers drummed softly on the edge of the wooden table. “B-but it’s nice to pretend that it does once in a while.”

                                 He stopped drumming, raising his hand to his face and tugging a bit of his bangs behind his ear (in vain since a few thick strands stubborn went back to their original position). “Soulmate?—they’d have to be someone you would click the moment you meet, you know? Or the other half of you? S-someone you consider as more of a best friend, but not quite like a lover. Just someone who easily understands you. B-but I think the experience would be a bit different with everyone else.

                                 —I haven’t met mine, since I don’t believe in that, so my answer would be a bit pointless, don’t you think?”
