Sumiko hunched her knees involuntarily as Honou unwrapped his hand, prepared for her knees to buckle and to be met with her worst nightmare. But instead of the red flames that ferociously ate away at her sleep every night, what appeared before her sent her breath away.
“Oh… wow.” She was at a loss for words, legs easing a little. “It’s so… beautiful,” she gasped, mesmerized as it danced above his fingers before flickering away.
The feeling of suffocation when she first pictured what would happen was lifted straight away. With a quick nod of her head, her eyes gleamed with enthusiasm.
Maybe, she thought, maybe I can give it another go.
“I-I want you to teach me!” she exclaimed, immediately dipping her head at him. “I might be able to master it this time!"

“H-hold up—” After extinguishing the flame, he lightly pokes her shoulder. "I-I can’t just teach y-you to master it. I-It’s not as simple as you think. We have to s-start from the basics.”
He’s rather surprised about her reaction, although people were always pleasant when it comes to his ability to produce these flames. He is afterall, the first in the generation of Uchihas to have done so—his only way of making up for his lack of Sharingan. However, her new resolve won’t change the difficulty some fire-based techniques. He may have been a pyromaniac genius but even he has his own limits.
He twists his waist, searching for a particular item in his small waist bag. He pulls out a square sheet of white paper, handing it to her slowly. “First, we have to make sure that you’re affinity is fire. T-this paper will help you do so. Try concentrating your chakra into it—if it burns, then teaching you would be less difficult. B-but, if it isn’t, then it’ll be a problem.”
