She nodded her head. “At least they say wind enhances fire…” she joked weakly. That was the main reason why she felt so disturbed by her wind affinity; it enhanced the effect of fire techniques if she ever used them.
“I never did like wind, you know,” she said, holding her hands up together to form the tiger seal. “Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!"
What came out could not even be compared with what most Uchiha could do at the age of ten, yet she had to dig the soles of her feet into the soil to refrain from turning away from the scorching flames that she could imagine wanting to burn her.
Sumiko could feel the embarrassment creep up her facing having done it in front an Uchiha. This was what she got for refusing to build up her knowledge of fire techniques.
"Yea,” she squeaked, unclasping her hands. “I’m terrible at this.”

“Actually, you did pretty well, for someone who’s affinity isn’t fire.” He says with a light but observant tone. “That jutsu…i-it’s a pretty high-level technique that requires a lot of chakra. But at least, we both know that your chakra reserves…are more than sufficient, to say.”
He can’t help but looked annoyed when she forced her feet into the ground, but he rubbed that expression off his face, realizing that this was a girl who feared fire a few minutes and knew very little of it. Honou sits on the grass, planning for the next few steps they would have to take for her to not necessarily master the technique but become more fluent in it.
Finally, he stands up once again with his made decisions. “What you need—polishing…” He walks towards her position, and we a swift movement he nudges her foot off the soil. “T-that means, before sunset, you have to master the Katon without getting blown away from it."
He steps back once again, lifting the tiger seal for her to see, and mutters out, "Katon—” in a soft whisper. Blue fire emerges from his blow, and he lets it sit above his fingers tips for a moment for her to observe. He instructs her, and it would seem simple at first except it requires an incredible amount of concentration and control for the user. “Instead of Gōkakyū, let’s try something smaller and more…controlled. When you do the technique, try containing it using your chakra."
